little known fact
I have an amazing superpower. It reveals itself infrequently, but I am comforted to know it is there. No, it is not the ability to produce milk, neat as that is to both infants and adults alike. This super power manifests itself when I open a bag of sea salt and vinegar chips.
Tearing the bag top off, the tangy aroma is released into the air. For many years I have wondered why there has not been marketed bacon, coffee or salt-n-vinegar chip scented candles, air freshener, perfume and car deodorizer. I'd buy it. By the gross.
Reaching in is like a game. Will I eat the whole bag and bury the empty sack at the bottom of the trash eliminating the evidence, or will I "Oh Mighty Isis" it and have a single, delicious saddle shaped wafer, savoring every salt dusted square centimeter?
If I opt to call on the superpower, after reaching in and randomly picking one (you thought I'd go after the biggest, but not so, because I like to be surprised), I'll then close the bag, folding the top over with origami precision in a complicated series of angles, sealing in the promise of future deliciousness by keep out damaging moisture, not that a bag of chips around here lasts that long anyway with school lunches to be made throughout the week.
Well, today was a one chip day.
And for my next feat of greatness, I will now go save a kitty from being trapped in a burning tree.
