double double toil and trouble...

not quite macbeth, yet i assure you laundry time around here is quite the dramatic tragedy. twice a week when i run a bleach load, i feel not unlike grand high witch of the coven as i take yard stick in hand(caustic chemicals being what they are), poking down socks, stirring around underpants together w other soiled items as i chant praises to my trusty 17 year old top-loader.  while expensive front-loaders are tres chic and pretty fancy looking, i'll stick w my old friend, warts and all.

as long as the item to be cleaned is white, it all goes in my whirlpool cauldron together. napkins alongside the bathmat w poop plunger water on it in the same load you ask?  of course!  bleach is bleach. its sanitizing and disinfecting properties are nothing short of magic.

oops, looks like she got some bleach on her.  perfect karen silkwood costume. top marks.

and just in time for halloween, may be tough to discriminate between quality, but believe it or not only one of these stanzas rightfully belongs in the literary canon.  it's just a shakespeare/reilly mashup kinda tuesday.

water of poop, and booger pants,
jelly stains, and guts of ants,
pencil's lead, and turmeric mark
bloody hankie, "tooth of shark"
unpure clothes made fresh w bleach
age-old secrets i can teach.

Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

thanks, bill.
