what sweeter music

no demand was made. not even a polite request.  nevertheless, i heard viola music coming from the back of the house.  apparently mason decided it was time to practice. on a saturday.  and he had free access to vid games it being a weekend.  my astonishment and gratitude looked a lot like a big fat piece of choc chip brioche on a real plate even. 

he'll usually spend a few minutes on the assigned pieces from school, then goes back to older stuff he likes from previous years.  today it was led zeppelin's kashmir followed by game of thrones music. i will one day convince him to learn this one for viola.

he makes me proud.  beginning his 5th yr of viola.  no hopes or desires for a conservatory.  no aim at long term musicianship.  just plain old compliance in his sweet heart to make his mommy happy.    i'm going to need more brioche.
